Have you ever finally found a moment to relax
and then the doorbell rings? When you get there you find out it's a
door-to-door salesperson you just don't want to talk to. If so, you'll
really appreciate this wireless video intercom. Not only does it save
you from having to face another salesperson, but it provides added
safety of knowing who is at the door before you open it. These days you
just can't be too safe.
What's different about this wireless video
intercom is the monitor is totally portable and handheld. You can remove
it from it's charging station and carry it with you up to 330 feet (line of site) away
from the color video camera, yet still view and talk to visitors from
the comfort and safety of any location in your house. While that alone
makes this unit different, it has some very advanced capabilities as
well.
For starters, the system can be expanded up to 4 handheld camera units and 2 door units. Adding an optional Gateway can be integrated with electric door locking hardware so you can unlock a door or gate from a remote location.
When someone comes to your door and presses the button on the Door Camera Unit (Max. 2 units), the Handheld Monitor Unit (Max. 4 units) rings a chime and displays a video image from the camera.
The Handheld Monitor Unit store still images even if no one is there to answer the call. The first image will be captured within a second after the door camera button press. The second image will be captured 4 seconds after the first image. The third and following images will be captured at intervals of 1 second up to the set limit. Images can be viewed on a PC by using a micro-USB cable. It stores up to 500 images in an internal memory and each image will include a date and
time stamp.
.
Not only does it give you portability but this video intercom
provides some nice security features too. You can press the "Snap"
button to instantly capture a picture from the camera that can be used
to show to the police if necessary. Even if you aren't there when
someone rings your doorbell, the camera will take a picture of them and
store it for later viewing by just pressing the "Play" button.
Another feature that makes this wireless door intercom different is
that the camera can be battery powered. Other systems that claim to be
wireless still require you to run a power line to the camera, which is
not always easy. As long as you don't need to use the "browse" feature
that lets you capture an image from the area around the camera even when
no one is there, you can battery power the camera. But if you do have
the ability to provide line power to the camera, you'll have its full
capabilities.
How it Works
When a visitor pushes the button on the camera, ring tones are heard
and the monitor shows a still image. The still image is stored in memory. Press
the "Answer" button to talk to the visitor for up to 60 seconds. Press
the "Off" button to finish the conversation. You have 150 seconds to
answer a call and initiate a conversation. If you don't, an image will
be captured anyway. The light by the "Play" button will flash to alert
you that you had a visitor. The first image will be captured within a second after the PUSH button on the Door Camera Unit is pressed. The second image will be captured 4 seconds after the first image. The third and following images will be captured at intervals of 1 second up to the set limit.
Pressing either the "Browse" or "Answer" buttons when the camera is
powered from its AC to DC power supply will show an image from the
camera, plus sound from the camera's microphone can be heard.
In low light night-time conditions, an infra-red LED light will
illuminate on the door camera to improve the quality of the transmitted
image. The image will be displayed in black and white under these
conditions.
A camera angle adjustment lever shifts the camera's field of view a maximum of 15 degrees to any combination of vertical or horizontal.
The communications between the camera and monitor are encoded so your
audio and video are not shared with others.
