| This handy little
unit pairs with the WireFree portable units and the
WireFree flush-mount units. Use it to
speak
with visitors before opening the door. Visitors contact you by
pressing the button on the outdoor intercom.
When a visitor arrives, they press the TALK button. All intercom
units in your network will receive a tone. When somebody responds by
holding down the TALK button on a different intercom unit, a secure
channel is created and other units will not hear the conversation,
making your conversation secure. Or you can set up a network-wide
Conference mode so everyone can talk! While this unit is
waterproof, it can also be used for indoor applications as well. Use
is as an emergency panic button for an
elderly or disabled person
living in your home. A single press of its large button can summon
help.
This outdoor intercom can be used anywhere you would use a
WireFree portable intercom. It can make or receive pages/calls from
other intercom units. If you're using it on an outside door and you
do not want it to receive pages from other units, you flip an
internal switch and then it will change to where it can only hear a
conversation when someone answers a page from it (after its button
is pressed). You can use these in sets of two even without having a WireFree portable or flush-mount intercom. You'll lose a couple of features that the WireFree portable units
have such as the Monitor mode, channel selection, or volume control
(there is a switch inside to make it louder). But you'll appreciate
how easy this WireFree Outdoor Intercom is to use. In fact, if you
don't need the features of the portable or flush
mount units, you can use as many of these outdoor
intercoms together as you like without having any
portable or flush-mount units in your system. Since the WireFree Outdoor Intercom is meant for wall mount,
there is one easy modification we recommend so it can be used for
table top mount. Just go to your local hardware store and ask for
the self-adhesive vinyl bumpers that are typically used for
keeping your cabinet doors quiet when closing them. Then just stick
five of them on the bottom of the WireFree Outdoor Intercom and now you
can set it anywhere without having it slide around. For more
information, see the
WireFree Outdoor Intercom user guide. |
