Configuring a System
The IO1057 part number is just the main controller module and power supply of a modular cellular-based apartment intercom that supports up to 25 apartments. To build out this system you choose a housing and modules from the Related Items section below and add them to this main module. We will custom build this system for you based on the modules you select.
Modules available are as follows, this cell phone module, combined proximity card and keypad, blank module faceplate, illuminated info window, 1-button module, 2-button module, 3-button module, 4-button module, and a 5-button module. These modules can be installed in a metal housing that can hold 2,3, and 4 modules so you can create any system you want. How do I configure an IO1057 Apartment Intercom system?
Configuring an IO1057 system involves choosing the right combination of modular components to fit your building's size and access needs. Follow this step-by-step guide to build your system:
Step 1: Start with the Core Module
Every system requires the base cell module.
- Add the IO1057 Cell Module to your order (this handles the cellular connectivity and includes the necessary power supply).
Step 2: Choose Your Call Buttons
You need one physical button per apartment. Button modules come in 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5-button configurations. You can mix and match them to reach your total apartment count.
?? Design Tip: If you have an even number of units, try to balance the modules. For an 8-unit building, choosing two 4-button modules will look much more symmetrical and balanced than choosing a 5-button and a 3-button module.
Step 3: Decide on Keypad Access
Determine if your building requires keyless entry for residents or trusted visitors.
- Add the Keypad Module if you want to allow entry via PIN codes or proximity cards/fobs.
Step 4: Select the Correct Housing Size
Once you know your total number of modules (Cell Module + Button Modules + Optional Keypad), select a mounting housing that can hold them all.
