This book was originally published in 1958. A lot has changed since then, but what has not changed is the way ideas are formed in the human mind. Ideas are formed now as they were back then, and since the day humans first came up with the idea for the wheel. The only thing that has changed since the dawn of time is our understanding of how the idea creation process works as well as our ability to stimulate the process.

The examples given in this book have not been changed. While they are a little dated, they provide a fascinating view into the history of brainstorming, as well as the history of how some well-know products were thought up.

Back in the 50's women's roles in business were very limited. I took the liberty of updating the entire book to better reflect women's current roles in business. I also updated a few sections that used terminology that some people wouldn't understand, and I removed such outdated references to slide rules, drawing boards, and the like. Other than these and formatting changes, the book is largely intact the way it was originally written.

This book was originally intended mainly for those people working in the corporate structure. If you have an employer you may want to read the entire book since it could help make you a more valuable employee.

If you are an entrepreneur not all chapters will be 100% relevant to you. If don't want to read the entire book, below are the chapters that I recommend you read in full and the ones that you should scan to pick up the information you'll need to understand the rest of the book.
