If you need a video intercom that is built to last for a commercial installation, this is it. Video intercoms don't get any more durable than this...or much more full-featured. You can use this unit to monitor one door with up to two inside stations.

This intercom offers features like 170 degree angle view, digital camera pan/tilt/zoom, 240 image picture memory, high resolution screen, exceptional low light pictures, sensor inputs to sound an alert on all stations, video to DVR output, vandal resistant camera, door or gate open button, option button for other applications, monitor adjust button for varying lighting conditions, and easy two-wire installation.

The Video Door Station on this video intercom provides higher image quality than most cameras... especially for night images. You'll see much more detail in low-light conditions than you'll get with other non-commercial units. The monitor can even be adjusted for low-light and nighttime settings as well as bright and heavy backlighting.

img class="img-responsive" src="/v/vspfiles/assets/images/combined.jpg" alt="video intercom features" style="float: right; margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px;"/>The Video Door Station is a vandal-resistant, surface-mount door station that mounts directly to wall surface. Its faceplate is cast zinc, the call button is metal, and the camera is protected with a clear, tough Lexan lens cover.

The Video Door Station features a color CMOS camera, speaker and microphone for communication, illuminated call directory, and white illumination LED for low light conditions. The inside stations are for use indoors only. Only the Video Door Station is weatherproof and can be used outdoors.

Unlike cheaper video intercoms, the camera on this unit provides a wide 170 degree angle view so you can see your entire entrance. This is the first video intercom of its kind to provide such a wide viewing angle.

Not only does this video intercom have a wide angle view, it also lets you control the image you see with its Pan, Tilt and Zoom feature. Where some intercoms use a mechanical, motorized method of controlling the camera, this one is done digitally so there are no moving parts. That increases its reliability and durability.

When you start out in 170 degree angle view, you can pan to the right and left and then zoom in to see individuals closely. If you are using this intercom in a location like a school where you could be viewing children or adults, the tilt feature becomes very useful. It lets you move the camera up or down to match the varying heights of your visitors.

For security purposes there is a picture memory that stores up to 240 images. If a call is received from a video door station, the unit starts recording automatically. The record LED (red) flashes during recording. Recording starts approximately two seconds after the CALL button of the Video Door Station is pressed. A maximum length of approximately 6 seconds (6 shots) can be recorded, with 1 picture and 1 shot for each second. A maximum of 40 images can be recorded for each visitor (combined total of automatic recording and manual recording images). If 40 images are exceeded, images are overwritten starting from the image with the oldest recording date.

or automatic recording, you can select the recording method for recording pictures (up to 6 for each image) from the following four types:

  1. First three pictures are zoom pictures at a pre-set position, and the next three pictures are wide pictures.

  2. First three pictures are wide pictures, and the next three pictures are zoom pictures at a pre-set position.

  3. All six pictures are zoom pictures at a pre-set position.

  4. All six pictures are wide pictures.

The initial setting is for the first three pictures to be zoom pictures at a pre-set position, and for the next three pictures to be wide pictures.

There are two modes you can use for voice. With Instant Voice Call Mode, even without answering a call, the door area can be seen and heard with video and audio (for approximately 45 seconds). Inside sound is not heard outside.

In high noise environments, you put the unit in In Push-To-Talk (PTT) Mode by pressing and holding the TALK button for at least 1 second. A beep sounds, and after approximately 1 second another beep sounds. Now PTT mode is engaged and you simply press the button every time you want to talk to the Video Door Station.

If you have a back room or some other location where you need to hear tones from the intercom, an optional Chime Extension Speaker is available. You won't be able to respond to a visitor, but you'll at least know someone is there so you can go to a station. Through the extension speaker you'll hear chime tones from door station, alarm sounds during external sensor input, audio during instant voice call, and chime tone during room-to-room communication.

If you need an audio only station on your system, one of those is available too. The optional Audio Sub Master Station is an audio only sub station that can be connected in place of a sub video monitor. The unit features a TALK button to activate the VOX or push-to-talk style communication, separate off button, a call tone volume and receive volume control, a call button to call master, and a button for door release. When optional units operate (for example, when a sensor is activated or call button is pressed), the master monitor station and sub master station will receive an alert sound. Also, when notification at door is enabled, the door station also receives an alert sound.
