The DA1002 Half-Mile Motion Detector and
Receiver Kit uses a passive infrared (PIR) detector to detect people,
vehicles or large animals at the monitored location. When the
transmitter detects an object, it sends a signal to the receiver, which
will sound one of four different tones (Classical, Westminster Chime,
Ding Dong, or Whistle) for a few seconds. The transmitter can be used as
a driveway alarm, in the back yard to monitor around tool sheds or
patios, or anywhere you need to be alerted of motion.
part of the DA1002 plugs in to a standard wall outlet and can be placed
on a table or mounted on the wall. It has a volume control so you can
set the tones to the desired level. The receiver is also equipped with 4
relays (one for each zone) and one 12 volt DC output terminal that can
activate when a signal is received (each zone can be set to activate the
12 volt output). The receiver can be user programmed so the 12VDC
terminal and relays will activate for 1 second, 10 seconds, 60 seconds
or 10 minutes. You can use the relays and DC output to activate lights,
sirens, or anything you can think of.
For maximum range between the transmitter and receiver, the receiver
should be mounted horizontally on a wall and as high off the floor as
possible. Although the maximum range is about ½ mile, things such as
hills, trees, metal siding and stucco can all reduce the range.
The receiver and transmitter are coded to work together using one of
256 switch combinations so you won't have to worry about interference
with neighboring systems.
The DA1002 can have up to four zones with each zone activating a
different relay and tone so you'll know which zone has been activated.
The receiver has a red led light for each of the four zones. If you
are gone and your system is activated by motion, these lights will tell
you something activated your alarm. It even has the capability to flash
once for each time the system was activated (for up to ten activations)
so you'll not only know the alarm was triggered, but how many times.
There is also a reminder beep that can be set to beep every 15 minutes
after a signal is received. This beep can be enabled per zone. Buttons
on the unit enable you to reset the lights and beep for the next
The receiver can be programmed to have a 5-minute exit delay where it
will not receive a signal from selected transmitters. This enable you to
exit the premises without setting off the alarm and is programmable per
