Card readers use proximity cards that allow visitors, employees or residents access to a property. A card reader pedestal mount is used to place the card reader near the access door. If the card reader uses wireless radio frequencies, we recommend using a plastic Buffer Plate mounted between the card reader pedestal and the card reader. Intercom Equipment
As an intercom post, these poles can hold wireless or wired intercom equipment. They have a standard gooseneck post mounting pattern on the mounting faceplate that is compatible with most intercom equipment. Custom poles can also be made.
Gate Access Control
One of the largest usages of these poles is as a gate keypad mounting post or a gate intercom post for the purpose of opening a security gate. As an intercom pole, they allow two-way communication and gate opening. If you add a video intercom you can also see visitors. If all you have is a keypad at the gate, then someone can enter a code to open the gate. You can also get intercoms with built in keypads that allow for both.
