Case Study: BASF Saves Over $50,000 with Wireless PA System
The Challenge:
BASF, The Chemical Company, faced a significant expense when planning to install a wireless PA system in one of their large plants. The initial quote was $70,000, with over $40,000 allocated for labor costs to run thousands of feet of wiring—a time-intensive and costly process.
The Solution:
Instead of proceeding with the expensive wired system, BASF chose to partner with us. For less than $12,000, they purchased our wireless PA system and completed the installation themselves in just one day, significantly reducing both equipment and installation costs.
The Result:
BASF saved more than $50,000 and benefited from a quick, hassle-free installation process.
Customer Feedback:
Ricky Roach of BASF shared his experience:
"Great company and great products. I installed the Wireless Intercoms at 5 BASF plants and never had a problem—that was 6 years ago! You won’t find a better or more cost-effective solution for intercom or emergency evacuation systems. Easy to install, no maintenance—it's the best, at about 1/10th the cost of other systems because it’s wireless."
This case highlights how our wireless PA system provides a reliable, affordable alternative to traditional wired systems, offering long-term value without the high upfront cost.
Installation and Usage
The Wireless PA receiver operates on a standard 110VAC power supply. For added reliability, an optional emergency backup battery can provide temporary power during outages, ensuring uninterrupted operation. Note that the rechargeable backup battery is designed for short-term use and is not suitable for prolonged power needs. For extended off-grid operation, a heavy-duty external +12 VDC battery can be connected, with the receiver optimized for battery efficiency. Additionally, a solar panel kit is available to power the receiver in locations where AC power is unavailable, offering a sustainable energy solution.
To streamline communications, the Wireless PA system can utilize a dedicated communications channel, allowing radios or intercoms to function for routine communication without unintentionally broadcasting over the PA system.
In environments where two-way radios are used near the Wireless PA speaker, feedback may occur, potentially disrupting the system’s usability. To address this, the receiver can be programmed to record incoming messages and play them over the speaker after the radio's talk button is released. Recorded messages have a maximum duration of 20 seconds, ensuring concise communication.
For enhanced signal reception, an optional external antenna can be installed at an elevated position, significantly increasing the receiver's range.
The receiver’s housing is not waterproof and must be installed indoors or in a protected location. For outdoor applications, a weatherproof, fiberglass-reinforced polyester enclosure is available to safeguard both the receiver and antenna, ensuring durability in harsh environments.
