Programmable Relay Switch
The internal relay switch can be programmed for different operations:
- Switch on when called - Switch closes (turn on strobe etc.) when the callbox first receives a call. Switch opens as soon as the PTT button is pressed, or if the callbox has not been used longer than its reset time.
- Switch on when active - Switch is closed (turn on strobe etc.) as long as the callbox is in use. Switch opens when the callbox has not been used (transmit or receive) longer than it's reset time.
- Switch is closed (turn on strobe etc.) - When the callbox receives or transmits a message until a 2-Tone code is sent from a programmed button on a radio.
- Switch momentary - Switch is closed for 1 second when the correct 2-tone code is received. Time can be extended up to 255 seconds
- Switch toggle - Switch alternately closes and opens with the correct 2-tone code is received.
Recorded Message Broadcast
This call box also has five factory pre-recorded messages that can be transmitted to receiving radios or played on the speaker when the Push-To-Talk button is pressed:
- Voice Alert (4 seconds max) - Message is transmitted when the PTT button is first pressed
- Greeting Message (12 seconds max) - Message plays on speaker when PTT button is first pressed
- Sensor Detect On (4 seconds max) - Message is transmitted when Sensor input is closed
- Sensor Detect Off (4 seconds max) - Message is transmitted when Sensor input is opened
- Low Battery (4 seconds max) - Message is transmitted when low battery voltage is detected
- Power Fail (4 seconds max) - Message is transmitted when a +12VDC power fail is detected
Easy Installation
The callbox includes a built-in antenna so there is no requirement for an external one. For better performance through higher antenna positioning to overcome obstacles or extend range, an optional external antenna adapter is provided (refer to Related Items below).
Our callboxes come pre-programmed to Channel 1 on the FCC license-free MURS frequencies, so no additional programming is necessary. They are fully compatible with our other pre-programmed MURS radios for seamless communication.
For installation, the unit includes two mounting brackets for flat surfaces, and for pole mounting, an optional gooseneck pedestal pole bracket is available. To ensure security, the callbox is sealed with four Torx screws, and we provide a Torx bit for easy setup.
How it Works
When a visitor presses the call button, a warbling tone is transmitted to all two-way radios or base station intercoms tuned to the same channel. If the unit is operating in battery-powered mode, it will automatically activate to allow two-way communication. After a period of inactivity, the callbox returns to sleep mode and cannot be contacted again until the button is pressed by another visitor. For continuous operation in full intercom mode—where the unit remains active at all times—an optional cable and a 12-volt power supply are required (see Related Items). If you are using the internal relay for door or gate opening, you activate it by pressing a button on the inside base station intercom or handheld radio.
