Additional Handsets
Although the controller has only two jacks, multiple phones can be
connected to each jack using a daisy-chain configuration. When phones
are wired in series and connected to one jack, they can ring all other
phones connected to the opposite jack. However, this setup does not
allow for calling individual phones unless only two phones are used. The
number of supported phones depends on the phone type. Modern phones
with built-in electronic ringers can be connected in greater numbers,
with no practical limit. In contrast, older analog phones with
mechanical bell ringers require ringing voltage, limiting the setup to a
maximum of two phones.
