When selecting a window intercom system, it's essential to consider compatibility. Answer the following questions1. Can you run wire around the window?
Most systems require a physical connection between the inside and customer-facing stations.
2. Do you have an existing round speaking hole in the window?
These require an intercom that can fill the hole. If you have a hole at counter level, or no hole, then you can use a counter intercom.
3. Is the customer-facing side outdoors in the weather?
If so, you will need a weatherproof outdoor station.
4. Do you know if the customer/visitor is there, or will you need to be alerted?
Some systems have the ability for the customer/visitor to push a button.
5. Do you need to connect the intercom with a phone system?
There are intercoms that can be connect to either analog or IP phone systems. These will typically be wall mount so they may need some creativity to mount them.
