Wireless Drive-Thru Intercom System

For drive-up window applications requiring an intercom system but where running wires is not feasible, a wireless drive-thru intercom system is the ideal solution. Many drive-thru intercoms include a wireless headset but still necessitate a wire between the building and the drive-thru lane. Installing this wire through concrete lanes can be prohibitively expensive. At IntercomsOnline, we offer a completely wireless solution.

Our Wireless Simultaneous Talk and Receive Intercom is a full-duplex system, meaning it allows two-way conversations just like a phone call. The outside unit features a button that customers can press to initiate a call. Alternatively, you can install an optical sensor on the outdoor unit to automatically trigger a call to the inside unit. The monitoring employee then presses a button to answer the call, enabling smooth communication. Note that this system does not include a headset option for the inside unit, so conversations occur via an open microphone on the intercom.

The standard configuration of this unit only allows answering calls from the outside. We recommend an optional firmware upgrade that enables calling the outside unit, which will then auto-answer. This feature allows you to call back if necessary or if you already know the customer is there.

This system includes a base station intercom for the countertop near the cash register and a durable, weatherproof outside steel callbox for customers. The callbox has background noise immunity, ensuring clear voice communication even with noisy vehicles. Both devices come with power supplies that need to be plugged into an AC outlet.

For extremely high noise environments, we also offer an amplified noise-canceling wired intercom system that can be converted to wireless using standard wireless point-to-point bridging equipment. Our Hi-Def CAT-5 Audio Only Door or Gate Intercom can be converted to wireless, and the internal phone supports wireless headsets if needed. This unit provides the best noise cancellation and amplification of any system we offer.

We have multiple low-cost wired solutions to consider when running wires remains a viable option. The inside station utilizes push-to-talk technology while the customer can communicate without pressing a button. These models perform inadequately in noisy environments because they both have limited amplification power and do not provide noise cancellation.
