The process to upgrade your Aleko gate operator system with two-way intercom features remains simple and direct. The guide presents the necessary steps and considerations for choosing and setting up an intercom that matches your requirements.

Step 1: Choose Your Intercom Features

The first step is to determine the specific features necessary for your intercom system. Aleko intercom systems connect effortlessly to your gate operator through a basic two-wire connection. Your choices range from app-enabled systems to traditional wired intercoms that fit residential and commercial applications.

Step 2: Understand How the System Works

Pressing the inside intercom button or connecting via an app activates the intercom relay system. The relay operates by closing its contacts to complete the circuit which results in the gate opening. Your existing wireless gate opener remains compatible with your new intercom system and will operate without causing any conflicts.

Step 3: Determine Your Gate Type

Aleko offers two main types of gate operators: swing gates and sliding gates. Systems require different wiring terminals to connect an intercom.

Swing Gate Operators

For swing gates, connect the intercom to terminals 19 and 20, which are labeled "O/S/C" on the control board. Once connected, the gate operator will alternate between the following actions each time you press the gate button on the intercom or app: open, stop, close, stop, open.

Sliding Gate Operators

For sliding gates, connect the normally open relay contacts of the intercom to terminals in section 14 of the control board. Specifically, connect them to the G and GND terminals.

Step 4: Select the Right Intercom System

We provide multiple intercom system options designed to meet your requirements if you have not selected one yet. Our product range includes both basic systems and advanced solutions with app connectivity to make sure you find what you need.

Adding an intercom system enhances the convenience and security of your gate operator. With two-way communication, you can screen visitors before granting access, while app-enabled systems allow you to control your gate remotely from anywhere.
