Customer: If we purchase a product from the website does it come with installation?

IntercomsOnline: No we do not offer installation. Most of our products are very simple installs. If wiring is needed, we recommend an electrician does it. If you need an electric door strike, then a locksmith would be best to pick the best strike for your door. For driveway gates, a gate installer may be best. All of these people can typically install an intercom as well.

IntercomsOnline: If you need a quote which includes shipping cost you can place an order and under the section titled CHOOSE ONE PAYMENT METHOD, select the "Quote" payment option and then complete the order as normal. An invoice will be emailed to you. If you decide to purchase the items on the quote, you can click the link in the invoice email or call us and we can change the payment type on the order. The order will not be shipped until we receive payment.

IntercomsOnline: The MURS base station intercom DA1006 has a range of up to 4 miles so it could work. Range depends greatly on houses and trees in the way. There are also available handheld radios in Related Items on the product page.

Customer: I need a wireless intercom to reach a person on another block.

IntercomsOnline: The DA1006 MURS intercom can reach distances of miles, however the range depends on obstacles in the way of the signal. There is no way to know other than testing a set. You can enter DA1006 in the Search box at the top of this page to get more information.

Customer: I need an intercom for an apartment building.

IntercomsOnline: You can check under Intercom Applications and Apartment Intercoms to get an overview of what is available. We would need more information like is it wired or wireless, does it need video and audio or audio only, how many apartments do you have, and do you want tenants to receive calls even when not home.

Customer: I need a video intercom for an apartment building.

IntercomsOnline: These are intercoms that are used for multi-tenant buildings: AL1002, SL1000, and AE1048. These intercoms require a CAT-5 wire and Internet access. You can enter those part numbers one at a time in the Search box at the top of our website to see the features.

Customer: I need a wireless intercom for an apartment building.

IntercomsOnline: While there are no wirless apartment intercoms with tenant stations for anything over 4 apartments, the cellular intercoms can handle up to 1000 tenants. These are cellular intercoms that are used for multi-tenant buildings: IO1057, IO1058, IO1111, IO1036, IO1075, IO1019, AE1048, and IO1110. These intercoms require having cellular service on the intercom. You can enter those part numbers one at a time in the Search box at the top of our website to see the features.

Customer: What cell providers to the cell phone intercoms work with.

IntercomsOnline: They work with any GSM-based service. The main ones in the use are AT&T, T-Mobile, and Consumer Cellular. They will not work with Sprint or Verizon. All carriers are GSM in Canada.

Customer: What two-way radios do you have that are MIL-STD-810 compliant?

Customer: I need an apartment intercom that can open a door or a gate

IntercomsOnline: All of the apartment intercoms have this feature.

Customer: I am looking to get intercom that I can connect to a network.

IntercomsOnline: We would need more information on why you want it on a network and what type of network. If you are trying to connect to a VoIP phone system that would require a different intercom than one that just connects to the Internet. We would also need to know if it is for single-residence or buisness or if it is multi-tenant. Some possible choices are: IO1039, ZT1032, AL1002, IO1094, VK1022, IO1054, or. IO1114. Customer: can I add to a single door access system - AP1042? I need to add another access control with speaker to our current single door

IntercomsOnline: There is an expansion unit in Related Items at the bottom of the product page. Part number: AP1045

Customer: What type of wiring would i need?

IntercomsOnline: Look in the feature bullets on the product page for a detailed answer to that.

Customer: What type of gate opener are your intercoms compatible with?

IntercomsOnline: They are compatible with all of them. The intercoms just provide a normally open or normally closed contacts that connect to the gate openers via 2 wires.

Customer: Do the cell phone intercoms work in other countries?

IntercomsOnline: Besides the U.S. the rest of the world in on GSM service, which is compatible with the cell intercoms. However, there could be slight differences in the cell modem so we would need to check if one is available for your country. There will also be a difference in the plug on the power supply. Customer: I need a handsfree wireless intercom that can work outdoors at a door or gate.

IntercomsOnline: The AT1001 Hands Free Speakerphone Wireless Gate System is the only wireless handsfree door or gate intercom that is full-duplex, which means that both sides can talk at the same time like a phone call. It has a range of up to 4000 feet line of sight. If you need a long distance and have obstructions in the way, our MURS callboxes may be a better choice, however these are push-to-talk systems like a 2-way radio.

Customer: For the AE1026, AE1030, AE1041, and AE1039 CAT-5 intercoms, is there an App that goes with them?

IntercomsOnline: No there is not. These intercoms are not connected to the Internet in any way. The AP1068 Large Screen Mobile Ready Video Intercom may be a better choice. Enter AP1068 in the Search box at the top of our website to see its features.

Customer: We have a VoIP phone system that we would like to add a PA system to it.

IntercomsOnline: The VK1026 SIP Paging Adapter with Amplifier lets you add PA capabilities to a VoIP phone system. If you need more than 6 speakers, you may need to add an external amplifier like the VK1035 Paging Amplifier with Background Music 60 -Watt.

Customer: I'm looking for an intercom that can be used for a sick friend, elderly person, quadriplegic and is voice activated.

IntercomsOnline: So voice activated?

Customer: I need a repeater setup for handheld radios so they have a longer range.

IntercomsOnline: Unless you can put repeaters along the area yu want to cover, you likely won't be able to reach long range with handhelds. Not likely with base stations either unless you can put up big mast antennas on both sides. Customer: Do MURS radios connect to any wireless radio brand?

Customer: I need a PA system where we can broadcast from multiple locations.

IntercomsOnline: Our RT1118 Wireless PA can have an unlimited number of devices broadcasting to it. You can use handheld radios or desktop base stations. Customer: I'm looking for two way video intercom where visitors can see staff and staff can see visitors.

IntercomsOnline: The only intercom we have that has two way video is the AL1002 Touch Screen Internet-Connected Video Intercom. Enter AP1002 in the Search box at the top of our website to see its features. This intercom uses smartphones and tablet PCs on the receiving end.

Customer: Looking for door bell / intercom / video system from our cellphones

IntercomsOnline: The IO1039 Wi-fi or CAT-5 Video System with Keypad contacts people on an app on their smartphones or tablet PCs. It can either use Wi-Fi or CAT-5 cable to connect to the Internet. IntercomsOnline: For a driveup gate we recommend the AE1030 if you need one with a keypad for PIN code entry, or the AE1041 without a keypad. These intercoms use CAT-5 for wiring

Customer: Hi, If I wanted to adapt the RT1118 wireless PA system to work through solar I would just need to add a RT1035 12-Volt 10-Watt DC Solar Power System for each unit?
